Christmas:
Other Light Shows in Sonoma County
September 4th, 20102010 Shows Canceled
September 4th, 2010
You read the post right, I have decided to skip this year by taking a well needed break designing light shows. I really didn’t want to do this because of all the wonderful feedback and the success of last year. We did run into some issues where I did not have enough man power to help deal with all of the traffic which lead into some concerns with the neighbors for 2010. So this year I felt that it was appropriate to move to a new location where the traffic can manage itself and can handle the amount of people that showed up last year. I found 2 locations that were perfect but both places unfortunately declined to have me host it there. One location got as far as me designing what the show would look like (see picture on the left). I planned a 75,000 light show spectacular but was voted down by the management during the summer last minute.
Another reason why is because being a college student. Last year, my grades suffered spending a lot of time setting up and creating the shows. I am not saying it wasn’t worth doing because I loved the publicity it got but school is very, very important right now and I can’t ignore that.
Thanks for being a supporter of ACLights and I hope to return soon in 2011! If you want to see other local light shows, please click here. (There are some huge ones being worked up by some fellow LOR users and its going to be amazing. Plus, we are helping one of them by donating our equipment and time)
Searching for a new location again.
May 29th, 2010Unfortunately I was just informed that the light show is not happening at PVBC. It would have been a perfect location and I was happy they were nice enough to allow their space to be decked out with 75,000 planned lights in the beginning. That was plan C and so far there is no plan D. I will keep everyone updated if I find a new location but it might be hard because it’s now almost June.
If you have a location in mind, please shoot me an email at chad@aclights.com. I am looking for a place that can allow a lot of traffic flow and can handle lots of power.
Thanks everyone for your support and hopefully we will be back again this year,
Chad Dunbar
